The parking spots with a total of 40 bikes that can be used by an auto loan system via SMS
The director general of Transport and Ports, Carmen Sandoval, accompanied by the mayor of Alhama de Murcia, José Swords, today visited the four new bicycle rental points installed in the center of town, a performance sponsored by the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, which will help to promote sustainable mobility in the town.
Sandoval said "the objective pursued by these actions is to promote the use of this transport system as an agile and economic help to reduce traffic density in cities and minimize energy expenditure resulting from the use of private vehicles."
In particular, there are 40 bikes that citizens can make use of Alhama de Murcia and parking areas are located in the railway station in the garden Miguel de Cervantes, in the Rambla de San Roque and garden San Cristobal.
To use the free loan system, the citizen must apply for registration at City Hall or the Tourist Office and present ID, a photo and a deposit of 30 euros, which will be refunded in case of dropping the service.
Thus, the user will receive a card certifying their personal number.
To benefit from the service, you will go to any of the installed base and send an SMS with the personal number, allowing you to pick up the bike.
The Director General concluded that "through this new culture of mobility, which the regional government seeks to reduce polluting emissions to air, lower noise and better use of space, and that ten bicycles occupy the same space as a car, so that more cycling involves not only a reduction of traffic, but also better facilities for parking. "
