The Director-General for Transport visit the four new points of "Bicialhama" (24/05/2010)

The local mayor, José Espadas, along with the councilman of the Environment, José Miguel Muñoz, accompanied the Director General for Transport and Ports, Carmen Sandoval, who today visited the four new points installed in the town bicycle hire Project "Bicialhama."

These actions are aimed at promoting cycling in the municipality as a means of sustainable transport to help reduce urban congestion and energy expenditure.

For this system of bicycle rental machine has carried out the installation of four parking spots, along with the addition of 40 bikes which citizens can make use of the municipality.

In particular, new parking areas are located in the railway station in the Garden Miguel de Cervantes, in the Rambla de San Roque and the Garden of San Cristobal.

These new items join the existing five since last year, installed through the initiative included in the Plan of Action of the Local Agenda 21 Alhama de Murcia of the "Take climate change seriously" for the promotion of cycling "BiciAlhama" with a free loan system that works easily and that even today is widely accepted among users who have already tried.

For those interested are reminded that to apply for registration, you must go to City Hall or the Tourist Office and show your ID card, a photograph and a deposit of 30 euros which will be refunded in case of dropping the service.

Thus, the user will receive a card certifying their personal number.

To benefit from this service the user must go to any of the installed base and send a SMS to the number that will allow staff to collect the bike.
