The local mayor, José Espadas, along with Director General for Transport and Ports, Carmen Sandoval and the mayor of the Environment, José Miguel Muñoz presided over the morning of Friday, June 4, the act of presentation of the Plan Director of Alhama bike, which proposes the creation of a network of bike paths that connect the urban center of town to the west and the axis of the Industrial environment.
The speakers told the audience that this project was the Technical Environment of the City of Alhama, Manuel Aguila, and one of the technical consulting firm "Idom" Francesc Arechavala.
The study reveals that 89 percent of the approximately 20,000 inhabitants of Alhama are concentrated in the urban core, so we designed a grid of cycle routes that will cover the main areas of mobility, taking into account the real needs citizens.
This project proposes the creation of a bicycle hub that will connect well with the 'Health Trails', roads paved garden with a very low traffic density.

To encourage cycling and make it an everyday means of transportation, the plan has four specific approaches: infrastructure (roads and cycle tracks signs), parking, participation and training, a line of work arising in the implementation of courses driving schools to raise awareness among drivers about the importance of respecting the movement of cyclists.
