Therapy with horses to stimulate child development (22/06/2018)

This Thursday, the pilot project called 'Early Horse Riding' was completed, developed by the Cavalli Foundation, with the collaboration and funding of the Foundation for the Promotion of Equestrian Sports.

This program has offered free participation in six sessions of equine therapy for children derived from the CDIAT (Early Childhood Development Center for Children).

The mayor of Alhama de Murcia, Mariola Guevara, along with the Councilor for Social Services, Felipe García and the center's coordinator, Eva León, accompanied the children in the last session of these activities, which took place in the municipality during the last two months.

The project has two fundamental objectives: to improve the quality of life of the children that are being cared for from the Early Childhood Development Center of Alhama de Murcia and to promote equine therapy to be included in the therapeutic services offered to children. small ones that require stimulation and therapies for their proper evolutionary development.

Through it, it is intended to complement and improve the early attention provided by the City Council to this group of minors.

During the visit, both the Mayor and the Councilman, were able to exchange impressions on the benefits of this activity with the families of the participating children, as well as assess the progress made in their therapeutic treatment.

The representatives of the Government team thanked the high level of involvement shown by the professional team of the Cavalli Foundation, encouraging them to continue with the work they are carrying out.

The therapeutic team, meanwhile, wanted to thank the store 'La Querencia' donation of material that has served as support to carry out the activity, as well as 'Carmen Olivares Photography' their collaboration in the realization of the photographic report during the sessions.

Finally, from the Cavalli team, they have shown the progress that, for the therapeutic treatment of children with developmental difficulties, would include equinotherapy as a permanent service offered by public services.
