The Department of Sports reports that from Monday September 10 and up to an approximate period of four months the athletics track will remain closed to undertake the repair of the pavement (tartan), as well as the renewal of the irrigation network and natural grass in the inside of the track.
The track was built in 1990 and, due to its great use, is currently very deteriorated, with significant wear and loss of elasticity in the synthetic material that forms it.
Also, the field of natural grass presents a bad state due to the loss in the irrigation network.
This investment will cost 512,128.87 euros.
We remind you that the rest of the facilities of the Guadalentín sports complex will continue to function normally within its established schedule.
