'Fash Food' celebrates a Thanksgiving dinner 'a la murciana' (27/11/2018)

The menu was created and cooked by Murcia chefs Tomás Écija and Cundi Sánchez, from restaurants El Albero (Ceutí) and La Maita (El Albero), and served by their dining room team.

The dinner focused on the 'Give thanks' concept, coinciding with the celebration of the Thanksgiving night, inviting diners to wear 'Montera Tartan' style, with country touches and plaid fabric.

Products of the land offered by Makro and pairing by Estrella de Levante and wines from the Jumilla PDO prepared by the sommelier Esperanza Pérez de La Gracia.

31 guests were the first to book and confirm their place in the third experience Fash Food in Murcia.

And the lucky ones to have a place at the Thanksgiving dinner that they had prepared on arrival at the small palace of Alhama de Murcia, in the middle of Murcia's orchard.

There the actor Pepe Hortas was waiting for him, in the skin of the house steward, who received them and gave them the first indications to a dinner in a familiar tone around a table, Thanksgiving of the Mediterranean.

Then, the chefs Tomás Écija and Cundi Sánchez, from El Albero (Ceutí) and La Maita (Molina de Segura) left to cook, and to present exclusively their typical Murcian chicken sausages made by them. and a chicken soup from Murcia.

The atmosphere generated in the interior and gardens of the nineteenth century palace in Alhama de Murcia, highlighted by the Christmas character created from natural reasons (olive leaves, natural pumpkins, eucalyptus), different textiles, diversity of candles to create a charming lighting, which added to the furniture and the original decoration of the space, achieved a cozy and familiar feeling.

Already seated in different rooms of the house, the menu started with a few mouthfuls made with hen, chicken and rooster from Murcia, in different textures and presentations, which surprised the diners, with funny moments like the trompe l'oeil of hard-boiled egg, which It was really a chocolate with sobrasada cream and cheese.

The guests, appropriately dressed in country touches and plaid fabric, dress code 'Montera Tartan', continued enjoying in an evening in which the messages of gratitude were succeeded between flavors and aromas.

In addition, the butler invited them to make toasts and meet their table companions, with whom they shared this unique experience, full of unforgettable moments.

The dishes of the chefs were integrated into a review of the trajectory of its most iconic dishes, developed over 17 years of history.

In this way they were able to taste six dishes, among which the Sabor a Mar (its new version of the Mar Menor), the vegetable Taco of spicy Red Tuna, the Niguiri de Anguila, and its tribute plate to the Autumn Winter, with venison .

In addition to the dessert coffee and chocolate and petit fours 'daring and picantones' with salted caramel, chocolate and wasabi.

All the dishes are paired with Estrella de Levante, Punta Este, and rosé, white, young, crianza and sweet wines from different Jumilla PDO wineries, by Esperanza Pérez, from La Gracia.

During the dinner, the surprises were happening with appearances and speeches by the butler, interpreted by the actor Pepe Hortas, who dared to tell Christmas stories of the author Charles Dickens.

The dinner ended with the Slow Presbyterian cocktail with Dewar's 12 whiskey, basil, orange peel and ginger ale.

Right after tasting the cocktail, at the entrance a bonfire was made to burn the wishes and messages of gratitude, as a gesture of Thanksgiving 'made in Murcia'.

The 31 diners of Fash Food 3 got on the bus that would take them home, where they will happily remember shared images and feelings with their new friends, who are already part of their family.
