The City Council hires two workers for their labor insertion through the Euroempleo program (24/01/2019)

The City Council of Alhama de Murcia has been developing policies and actions aimed at supporting the labor insertion processes of the population, with special attention to groups with greater difficulties, such as groups in situations of social vulnerability.

As a result of this interest, various collaboration agreements have been established for networking, with social entities that are developing actions in the municipality to improve the employability of people at risk and / or social exclusion, as well as in progress, own measures for the promotion of contracting in companies of the territory, as well as including social clauses in the hiring of public services.

Specifically, in March of 2018, a collaboration agreement was signed with the Federation of Mental Health of the Region of Murcia (FEAFES), whose purpose is to facilitate the labor integration of users of said federation.

Within the framework of this agreement, we have been working in a coordinated manner from the municipal Social Services, with the Federation of Mental Health, for the referral of people and their preparation for the working world, through the development of insertion itineraries in the framework of the Euroempleo program.

It is a plan managed by the Murcian Health Service and financed by the European Social Fund by 90%, within the Operational Program 2014-2020 FSE of the Region of Murcia, through which it has subsidized the City of Alhama the hiring two people in order to complete the labor insertion itinerary, offering them the opportunity to develop professionally, acquiring the experience and knowledge necessary to access the ordinary labor market once they finish their contract at City Hall.

Specifically, two pawns of various trades have been hired, during a period of 12 months, for which the Murcian Health Service has granted a subsidy that covers 40% of the contracting costs, while the City Council contributes 60% with own funds.

The Councilor for Social Services, Nani Navarro, together with workers in this area, and the assistance of the coordinator of the SMS Euroemployment Program, José Antonio Peñalver, visited the two people who have benefited from this grant for hiring, interested in the incorporation to their jobs and assigned tasks.

They have also encouraged them to continue striving, learn as much as possible during this period of work, to acquire the necessary experience that later opens the doors to other jobs.

Nani Navarro has stated that "taking into account the social stigma faced by people with mental health difficulties, access to a resource like the one proposed here for protected employment, is a first impulse for the person to develop their full autonomy. and stop relying on social protection systems, getting to meet their needs in the most dignified way possible, with self-sufficiency ".

He also thanked the FEAFES labor inserters "for the great work they do, the implication they have shown and the importance of having specialized professionals like them in meeting the needs of the residents of Alhama".

Finally, it should be noted that, in addition to these two people who have now completed the labor insertion itinerary, they are actively working and developing their itineraries for the preparation of the labor world with five other people, in a coordinated manner between the Municipal Social Services and the Federation of Mental Health of the Region of Murcia.
