More than 300 butchers and butchers from Spain meet at ELPOZO ALIMENTACIÓN to analyze the opportunities of the sector (03/06/2019)

ELPOZO ALIMENTACIÓN has gathered at its facilities in Alhama de Murcia to more than 300 professionals of the meat sector from different parts of Spain in the First National Meeting of Butchers and Charcuteros.

The objective of this day is to analyze current trends and consumption habits and exchange proposals and ideas for improvement.

This is the first meeting of these characteristics that takes place in the Region of Murcia, framed in the celebrations of the 65th anniversary of the company.

The working day was carried out in collaboration with the Spanish Confederation of Meat Retailers (CEDECARNE).

The meeting included round tables, conferences of experts and specialists, as well as a visit to the installations of ELPOZO ALIMENTACIÓN.

With the celebration of this event, the leading company in food recognizes the work of this group promoting the exchange of experiences and proposals on how to meet the needs of current consumers.

The event was attended by the director Food Sector of Kantar Worldpanel, Joan Riera, who has addressed consumer trends and the market for meat products and the importance that butchers and butchers have for its evolution.

Next, a round table has been developed in which there has been a debate about what the butcher-deli of the future will look like, as well as the new business models, training and generational change in which the general secretary of the Spanish Confederation of Retailers has intervened. de la Carne (CEDECARNE) and general director of the National Association of Butchers of Madrid (CARNIMAD), María Sánchez;

the director of Área Tiendas Peña in Madrid, Antonio Peña;

the manager of the butcher Hermanos Hernando de Valencia, Silvia Hernando, and the manager of the butcher-charcuterie Gonzalez and president of the guild of butchers of Burgos, Miguel Ángel González.

The table was chaired by Ricardo Migueláñez, general director of Agrifood Sector Communication.

The day has continued with the presentation on social sustainability in charge of the company's veterinarian, Pedro Olivares.

His intervention has focused on the new protocol of Animal Welfare implemented by ELPOZO ALIMENTACIÓN, which is the most ambitious and demanding in Spain for the measures it has introduced throughout the livestock chain.

Olivares has also addressed issues related to food safety and care for the environment.

Another of the topics discussed was the one presented by Gaspar Ros, director of the Food Safety and Sustainability Chair of Grupo Fuertes, who has been president of the Food Safety and Nutrition section of the Scientific Committee of the Spanish Safety Agency, which has focused his presentation on the benefits of meat and charcuterie, its nutritional properties and the benefits that its consumption brings to health.

On the other hand, Igor Tudela, Trade Marketing Manager Elaborated by ELPOZO ALIMENTACIÓN, together with his fresh counterpart, Emilio Jeannot, have explained which are the best practices to use in the points of sale.

The day was inaugurated by the president of the company Tomás Fuertes, and closed by its general director, Rafael Fuertes, in both cases accompanied by representatives of CEDECARNE.
