The acting mayor, Mariola Guevara, the acting adviser for Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Miguel Ángel del Amor, and the acting councilor for Industry, Antonio José Caja, visited today the company Fruveco SA, located in the Park Industrial de Alhama and dedicated to deep-frozen vegetables.
During the tour, they were accompanied by the company's president, Francisco Ramón Gómez.
The Region of Murcia is the second province of Spain, behind Navarra, with the highest production volume of frozen vegetables.
Its growth has been constant in recent years, which has led the company to raise new facilities, which will complement those it has in the hamlet of El Raal Murcia, to respond to the significant demand for fruit and vegetable products and ready meals Frozen
After the implementation of its first phase, the company has announced its intention to expand its industrial facilities, which currently store the manufactured products and prepare the orders for its commercialization, which have a cold store to store frozen products;
an expedition ship dedicated to the reception and dispatch of merchandise;
and a machine room that serves the rest of the installation.
To carry out this infrastructure, Fruveco has invested 20.4 million euros and the Ministry has granted a subsidy of four million with food aid.
Exports in this sector reached 159 million euros last year, which represents an increase of 18.3 percent over 2017. Highlights sales to the United Kingdom, with 44 million euros;
France, with 33, 7 million and Germany, with 32 million euros.
Mariola Guevara has expressed "that the city is carrying out all the necessary urbanization phases so that these companies, like others, can be implemented in our polygon, because they are generating wealth and employment opportunities for the municipality."
