The most transparent Municipal Governments win the elections (12/06/2019)

The analysis of the results of the Municipal Elections held on May 26 shows how the most transparent governments, according to the data of the Dyntra Platform, win elections in their municipalities or increase in councilors, with the exception of the Consistory run by Ada Colau.

Transparency is shown as an inexcusable and transversal value for political leaders, an example of this is clearly seen in the local sphere where more transparent governments manage to revalidate their mandates thanks to citizen support.

This idea is based on the study of the electoral results obtained by the leading municipalities in transparency according to the Dyntra Ranking at the date of holding the elections.

Analyzed the results in the fifteen most transparent municipalities highlights, on the one hand, that 8 of the 15 parties that govern these Consistories win the elections with absolute majority, only one of them, Neighbors by Torrelodones, and obtained it in the previous term.

Highlights the historical majority obtained by the Line 100x100 in the Town Hall of the Concepción Line where its mayor, Juan Franco, is also the 3rd most voted in Spain.

On the other hand, other five governments manage to increase their representation in the plenary sessions with a greater quota of councilors.

Among the Mayors of these municipalities, in addition to the first mayor of Linense, there are two more of the ten most voted in Spain, among which are Javier Ayala, Mayor of Fuenlabrada and Ana Mula, Mayor of Fuengirola.

The exception to these good results takes place in the City Council of the Catalan capital, where Barcelona en Común loses representation.

Dyntra uses a dynamic and open methodology for the preparation of Rankings that positions the City Councils according to their level of compliance with established standards, based on the legal system, good practices and citizen demands.

The municipalities analyzed have had a clear evolution in their evaluations as proof of their commitment to transparency.

One example is Fuengirola, currently ranked first, which has evolved from 40.23% in 2014 to a compliance of 91.98% today.

Similar is the evolution of the City of Bilbao that has gone from 39.16% to 89.51% or the City Council of the Line of the Conception, which has gone from 0.71% in 2014 to head the list of the General Ranking.

Transparency is a booming value that shows not only the efforts and commitment of governments to offer as much information as possible to citizens, but also the results of good management in Corporations.

The improvement reflected in the electoral results, translates as a positive response to the management carried out in these municipalities, where the information related to this is public, in the last 4 years.
