Workshop on detection, care and referral of sexual violence in leisure environments (12/06/2019)

The Department of Equality launches a training aimed at people interested and sensitized to gender violence who want to be part of volunteering to be present at local parties.

This workshop would be within the measures of the State Pact on gender violence that develops the City of Alhama for awareness and prevention of any form of violence against women.

This is another initiative in the area of ​​Equality with the aim of training volunteers to fight for an "Alhama free of sexist attacks" (title of the slogan).

Those interested in attending can go to the Business Incubator for Women (Luis Pasteur Street, s / n from Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) or call 968 636 505.

Objectives of the workshop

• They will clearly identify the elements that generate and maintain sexual violence against women.

• Acquire communication tools to raise awareness of gender violence at information points.

• They will be able to detect a situation of sexual violence in leisure spaces and make a first contention.

• They will know the specialized resources to carry out the necessary and pertinent referrals.

Methodology

• Meaningful learning: based on the reality and experiences of each participant, which will be connected with new learning in the classroom.

• Flexibility: adapting the methodology to the characteristics of each group and their needs.

• Care: generate a climate of trust, security and warmth.

• Participation: as an engine of development and as a tool for expression, motivation, and experimentation of new learning.

• The gender perspective, which will be present throughout the process, promoting the breaking of sexist roles and stereotypes, and providing new models of relationships.

The training activity will be eminently participatory, where the participants will reflect critically and constructively on their own relationships from closeness, respect, empathy with concrete situations and their life experiences.

In addition, they will develop a theoretical content following the model of gender mainstreaming and approach working cognitive, attitudinal and emotional levels of students.

The sessions will be carried out using techniques such as:

• Theoretical explanation.

• Brainstorming.

• Subjective questioning.

• Role plays and psychodramatic techniques.

• Resolution of cases.

• Individual and group work.

At the end of the workshop, a brief evaluation and satisfaction questionnaire will be delivered to the participants, which will be later turned over and analyzed by the teaching team.
