The University of Murcia (UMU) has organized on Wednesday October 2 the event 'EnlazadODS' next to the Campus of La Merced, a great party for equality framed in the project to promote the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) called ODSessions, where there will be a great violet human bond for equality.
The event has served as the start of 'SDG 5: Gender Equality', which will be developed in three faculties of the UMU: Labor Sciences, Communication and Documentation, and Law.
Diplomas to relevant women
During the event, chaired by the rector of the UMU, José Luján, a hundred relevant women from the Region of Murcia have been decorated, including the mayor of Alhama, Mariola Guevara, for being professional references in different sectors such as training , the company, politics, communication, art or the third sector.
Guevara has been accompanied by several councilors of the Government team, such as the mayor of Equality, Nani Navarro, Infrastructure, Antonio García, Culture and Heritage, María José López, Public Safety, Felipe García, de Festejos, Pedro López, de Environment, Antonio Espinosa and Pedanías, Eva Sánchez.
All this in a festive atmosphere that has had the live performances of the University Choir, Victoria Cava, Don Flúor, KUVE and Yana Zafiro.
Batucadas, balloons and pintacaras
During the event, Concha Pando, representative of the Unit for Equality of the UMU, has read a 'Manifesto for Equality', followed by a minute of silence in homage to the victims of gender violence.
The gala has also been animated by the batucadas 'Cucuprá' and 'Templum', and has had a pintcaras for the little ones.
Throughout the day there were thousands of violet balloons on the La Merced Campus, with the aim of encouraging training at 8.30 pm of the largest violet human loop in the history of the Region, which had as its starting point the University Square, in an area of ​​more than 10,000 square meters in the historic center of Murcia, reaching at its ends until Avenida Antonete Gálvez.
