It is paradoxical that in today's world, that we are more "connected" than we have ever been, the numbers of people who feel lonely are constantly rising.
Therefore, initiatives such as 'Neuroconnected' are necessary, which puts the focus on connecting with the other, through a program of intergenerational relationships.
This is an initiative of the psychologist Aida Cano Esparza, carried out by the professionals of the Elhama Senior Day Center, with the collaboration of CEIP Ntra. Sra. Del Rosario.
'Neuroconectados' is based on the discoveries of neuroscience, to carry out learning and stimulation of cognitive and emotional abilities, in people of very different ages.
The following aspects have been taken into account in this project: neuroplasticity, emotion, creativity, attention and cooperation, as the basis for the activities to be carried out, as recommended by neuroscientists.
It is a program with specific objectives, which go beyond the mere fact of bringing together people of different ages.
Through this program, active and healthy aging is favored and also promotes participation and social commitment, as advised by the European Union.
In addition to improving the mood, other objectives will be achieved, such as stimulating the cognitive abilities of children, which in turn will acquire skills such as empathy, which will undoubtedly make our children happier adults.
