The demonstration was marked from the beginning by the union between the residents of Alhama and the political parties as Citizens, who was the promoter of it, along with the Popular Party and Vox who subscribed to this movement.

The main reason for this concentration was a total rejection of a brutal tax increase that was finally approved in plenary by the Socialist Party, which currently governs the majority, despite the rejection of the citizens of Alhama.

Hundreds of people attended the demonstration with their own banner and for several hours there was a tense confrontation with groups of protesters who booed, whistled and even prevented the passage to the councilors and the mayor inside the plenary hall of the City Hall, where later this excessive tax increase was approved, and where many neighbors showed their indignation.

Some of the messages that presided over the entire concentration were "this is a robbery, hands up" or "turn on the light", since in addition, at the time the demonstration was called, the two lanterns that give light to the main gate of the City Hall and the Plaza de la Constitución.

As reflected in the images and videos offered in all media, and despite the darkness, the demonstration was one of the most significant convened in recent times in Alhama.

Citizens want to convey to the neighbors that they will continue to fight so that this situation is not so, that they will continue to summon the neighbors until the government team does not reflect or change criteria and decides to reverse this tax increase, since The 1,500,000 euros that the PSOE claims to have in competition of the Autonomous Community is unreal, is an inflated figure to justify this excessive tax reform.

Our councilor, Isabel Cava, has fulfilled her promise and our municipal group has written a letter to Mr. Pedro Sánchez asking him to proceed, as soon as possible, to modify the current autonomous financing system so that the Region of Murcia is not underfunded and can pay the City of Alhama de Murcia, improper powers for which he has raised taxes to Alhameño to lower them again.
