The Alhama de Murcia City Council, through the Department of Culture and Heritage, has signed two new agreements with the Alhama Musical Group for the development of cultural and musical activities of the choir and band of this association n. Agreement with the Musical Group The objective of this agreement is to meet the expenses incurred for the development of cultural promotion and dissemination events in Alhama de Murcia, through concerts and other performances throughout the year, such as their participation in the Festival of Bands, parades, processions in the districts, Christmas concerts, Easter, Santa Cecilia, etc., which contribute to the knowledge and dissemination of music in the municipality. Includes the acquisition of musical instruments, transportation and travel stays for promotion and experience in musical training or allowances for performing concerts outside the town, band management expenses and other expenses , such as invitations to musical groups participating in concerts, provided that they have not received remuneration, or other expenses of the operation of the band.

It does not include hotel expenses of the staff linked to the music band outside the town, which are not directly related to the musical activities programmed by the council, as well as any other hotel expenses that take place in the municipality from Alhama de Murcia. The text contemplates that if the activities described cannot be carried out due to the health crisis caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, it may be compensated with other similar and appropriate activities for the purposes of this contract that will be formed by the Culture and Heritage Area. The amount of this subsidy is 9,000 euros. Agreement with the Choir Within the Alhama de Murcia Music Group, the Choir carries out activities to promote and disseminate choral music in all its forms, through performances throughout the year, and participation in concerts of sacred choral music and meetings of choral groups from different origins, as well as the performance of the Christmas concert with meetings of children's choirs, contributing to the dissemination of choral music in Alhama de Murcia.

With the realization of these events, it is fundamentally pursued to develop activities that reach a great diffusion, with the aim of promoting classical music among the entire population and encouraging children's taste among the public.
