Stable Social Services a new system for granting social benefits (08/04/2016)

In the plenary session of March 29, 2016, the councilman of Social Services, Felipe García, presented two proposals to be initially approved based on the regulator municipal regulation of granting and managing economic benefits (1) Support for families with children and (2) family support and social integration.

These two proposals were subjected to public exposure and previously submitted to the Council of Social Welfare and social associations as well as local political groups.

The first proposal on support for families with children, stated in its rules of aid to families in socially disadvantaged or in need who can not afford on their own, supporting educational and schooling processes, covering food and promoting also other aspects such as leisure and training.

The second proposal, relating to family support and social integration, adds value to everything that has been done so far in Alhama de Murcia in this area.

The Department of Social Services is committed to a new model of shared responsibility between you, the family and the local administration.

The aim is that the Social Services are an instrument that promotes the autonomy of families and accompany them in the process of social integration.

From these changes this regulation provides for a different approach to the benefit system is created.

So that they can be granted, users must participate in workshops that aim to: 1. provide assistance aimed at strengthening relations of families with social systems (education, health, employment, etc.) to promote full social inclusion .

2. The development of skills and family to promote coexistence and social positive attitudes and personal autonomy.

Moreover, since the Department has expanded the collaboration agreement with the Red Cross to attend voluntary actions aimed at teaching children, in addition to further facilitate the management of aid to families with urgent basic needs.

To access all aid (Aid to Children, Family Support and Red Cross) the requirement not to exceed the threshold of income taxed at 45% of the minimum wage.

Social Services have the following objectives dignify the person and provide it with tools that help them achieve their social and professional integration.

The best help is that the user exceeds their situation using resources that this new regulation makes available and that will access through training and information that will provide the team of the Department.
