This innovative technology-based company specializing in biofertilizers, was born in 2010 and has grown to reach 40 countries
The Ministry of Employment, Universities and Enterprise, through the Institute of Development (Info), has captured the investment of 28 million euros of the agricultural biotechnology company Symborg for its new facilities, which will be located in the industrial park Industrialhama de Alhama of Murcia.
This project will involve the creation of about 50 direct jobs and more than a hundred new indirect jobs.
Info has worked with the company to achieve the ideal location of the new facilities, which will be 40,000 m2 and will allow the transfer and expansion of the company's structures.
In a second phase, will undertake the construction of a fermentation plant (2019), a glomu (fertilizer) plant in 2020, and a laboratory specialized in biotechnology.
The director Juan Hernandez held a meeting with company managers today and detailed the collaboration maintained from the Institute of Development with Symborg, which was born in 2010 in the European Center of Companies and Innovation of Murcia (Ceeim) and that has become a reference company in the field of biofertilizers.
Since its inception, Symborg has obtained aid and public funding for both Info and the Center for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI), under the Ministry of Economy, worth 2.7 million euros.
The main aid came in March, with funding of € 1.7 million from an R & D project to develop new generation bioproducts.
During the meeting, Symborg managers also signed up to the Investment Acceleration Unit (UNAI), so that Info will promote this investment as smoothly as possible, as is the case with other projects manage in the unit.
Juan Hernández highlighted that "this company is an example of talent born and developed with the advice of Ceeim, to become a success case, and an excellent ambassador of the Region of Murcia around the world. confirmation that a business model based on knowledge and collaboration with research centers is a guarantee of good results. "

The counselor added that "it is a sector with a high productivity and with qualified jobs, which brings together very important percentages of graduates and doctors."
Among the activities of Symborg is to promote agricultural crops without residues and promote methods for their biological control, which is committed to innovative solutions.
Following a progressive growth, this technology-based company (EiBT) has subsidiaries in Europe, the United States, South America and Asia, and its products reach more than 40 countries around the world.
Among Symborg's milestones is the development of products such as 'MycoGrowth' or 'MycoUp Attack', which inoculate a powerful fungus to the root of plants through irrigation systems.
This allows to achieve remarkable improvements in the physiological state of the plants, as well as in the quality and quantity of the fruits.
Uptake of 36 projects worth 150 million euros
From January to August this year, the Community has attracted 36 investment projects totaling 150 million euros from 13 companies, which has led to the creation of almost 700 new jobs.
The comparison with the figures recorded between January and August 2016 reflects similar levels of economic investment (also 150 million euros), but in this period of 2017 the jobs generated as a result of these initiatives are 450 more than in the same of last year.
