This morning the new managing director of the Murciano Institute of Social Action (IMAS), Veronica Lopez Garcia, has visited the residence of elders of Our Lady of the Rosary to learn about the facilities.
In his stay he was accompanied by the Councilor for Social Services, Felipe García, and the Deputy Councilor, Eva María Sánchez.
"The residence is 100% of its total, there are 40 dependent elderly people who are very well cared for and have a good quality of life, which is what the Regional Government and the Murciano Institute of Social Action are pursuing" explained the Managing Director of the IMAS.
"More than 3,000 people are in places of nursing homes and many relatives are still committed to these services and care is to give them quality of life and give them back a little what they have given us."
The residence of Mayores Our Lady of the Rosary, of ownership and autonomic management, is under construction for the installation of a new elevator adapted to improve the functionality of workers and residents.
The Councilor for Social Services has transferred to Veronica Lopez the main needs of the municipality of Alhama in terms of older people, such as the increase in places in the Day Center. A demand, along with others in the field of Social Services, that the mayor, Diego Conesa, as well as the councilman have communicated to him in the different meetings they have held in recent months with the director of IMAS and with the counselor of the Family, Violante Tomás.
