The plenary session of the Corporation decides tonight to declare voided the Special Plan of Arrangement of the Tourist-Recreational Complex 'Paramount Theme Park', in compliance with Sentence n ° 202/17 of the Chamber of Contentious Administrative Matters of the Superior Court of Justice of Murcia .
This legal body estimated last June the lawsuit filed by Ecologists in Action in 2013 and annulled the special plan for the project.
According to the claimant, part of this Special Plan, with an area of more than 1.5 million square meters and an urbanizable land of 320,000 m2, was located within the limits of the protected natural area of the Carrascoy-El Valle Regional Park, in particular almost 21% of the total performance.
The plenary session of the City council of Alhama approved the Special Plan in May of 2013, against which the ecological association interposed a resource of replacement, that was rejected a months later, in the plenary session of September of that same year.
This motivated Ecologists in Action to sue the City Council of Alhama de Murcia, Premursa Theme Park SA and Premursa Life Style SA upon understanding that both the local government and the regional government were not taking into account the use of this non-urbanizable space.
The full agreement proposes to declare voided the Special Plan of Arrangement of the Tourist-Recreational Complex 'Paramount Theme Park', thus fulfilling the ruling of the judgment issued by the Contentious Administrative Chamber of the Superior Court of Justice of Murcia against this City Council, in addition to process the requalification of the affected soils and to maintain the environmental values of the Carrascoy-El Valle protected natural area.
