Volunteers celebrate their day with lectures and installation of informational booths on Sunday, 5 (26/11/2010)

The next day, December 5th marks the International Volunteer Day.

For this reason the City of Alhama de Murcia, through the Department of Social Policy, has organized a series of activities which aim to celebrate the day raising awareness about the interesting and important work of the various organizations of local volunteers .

Fina García, mayor of Social Policy, gave an account of activities have been organized to emphasize the importance of the volunteer who unselfishly plays an important role in our society.

Activities will begin on Saturday 27 with the start of a workshop of Conduct on the Board of Red Cross from 17.00.

On Wednesday, December 1, Amit has organized a lecture titled "Think hard to feel better" to be held at 20.30 am in the auditorium of the Casa de Cultura.

On Thursday 2 activities will continue with another talk about how to help the reintegration of detainees.

It is organized by the NGO Peace and will be in after 20.30 in the House of Culture and the presentation will be headed by Pedro Moreno Velasco.

On Friday December 3 will be held a day of living through the volunteer dinner where he will deliver the Outreach Volunteer Award IX.

This dinner is designed for volunteers and may register through their own association or the Social Services Centre.

The deadline to attend is up Dec. 1 and will take place on the Feast restaurant.

Commemorative activities will conclude on Sunday 5 with the installation of the Social Volunteer Informational Booths in Alhama.

From 10.00 to 13.30 noon in the Plaza de la Constitution, residents can see first hand the work of associations like the Association of Friends of the Saharawi people, the Association The Mirror, the Spanish Association Against Cancer, the Association Lourdes Hospitality, Caritas, Manos Unidas, Red Cross, Amite, Civil Protection, the Scout Group and Municipal Services Social and Volunteer Time Bank.

Each association will have a booth to inform residents of their activity and, in parallel, organized activities such as workshops, games and more.

Also, the plaza will install a inflatable for children.

Supplementing this range of activities, as reported by Fina García, is hosting a workshop in memory framed Volunteer Training Program.

The course will take place during the month of January 2011 and early February.

He is scheduled to volunteer and registration can be made at the Municipal Centre of Social Services until December 29.
