On 8 March the International Day of Women and, as every year, the City of Alhama de Murcia through its Department of Women has organized a series of acts.
Soledad Tudela, Women's mayor, was aware this morning of the organized activities.
Tudela clarified that this year, and due to the economic crisis, have suspended the award of Violet, the journey of women and women's dinner, replacing them with training.
Due to budget cuts the money allocated to various activities has decreased significantly.
In addition, said the mayor, city women are continually demanding training to present a consistent professional future.
For this reason, and agreed with the Advisory Council on Women, it was decided, for now, to eliminate a more playful activities for other training.
"Women are calling me constantly training to enable them to build a better future employment and I think that takes precedence. We live in a time of crisis and we must be consistent with our current reality," says the mayor.
In this vein, the Department of Women and has organized a course with the money, in principle, for such activities.
Thus, on March 14 will begin a course entitled "Basic English for Women" which has 60 hours during 9.30 am to 12.30 pm and until 8 April.
The course will take place in the Women's Business liveth and those wishing to register must do so within the same business incubator.
Also, the mayor announced that they are preparing other computer courses, web design, etc.
Activities of Women's Day
To mark International Women's Day has prepared a schedule which includes literature contest March 8, the foundations are published, the VIII Women's Association and a meal in the restaurant coexistence Vest.
The exhibition will take place from 12:00 on Sunday 6th March at the Plaza de la Constitution, after the House of Culture, in its hall, delivered the prize in Literature.
Lunch will be on the same day at 14.30 hours at the restaurant The vest and the price is 25 euros per person.
Those wishing to attend must pay for food in the restaurant but, to anticipate the markets, must register with the Office of Women until 1 March.
On Tuesday March 8, will mark the International Women's Day with the placement of an information booth located in the Plaza de la Constitution from 10 am.
