Juan Romero Garcia Municipal Group Spokesperson IU + Greens in the city of Alhama, presented to the plenary for discussion on the following motion: CAM ACTION BY THE BANK OF SPAIN

On Friday, July 22, 2011, the Bank of Spain agreed to intervene in the Caja de Ahorros del Mediterráneo (CAM), which will receive the State, as recorded by the press, the amount of 2,800 million euros in aid, plus a line liquidity further 3,000 million euros.
This organization grew out of the Caja de Ahorros de Alhama and the Caja de Ahorros del Sureste, created in 1940.
Since the CAM is institutional representation of the City of Alhama, a person elected by the plenary; given the strong presence of this financial institution in our town, with two offices and thousands of customers, taking into account also that all that money to be used for rescue and clean up the CAM is public, taking into consideration that all this public money out of taxes and cuts (pensions, salaries of staff, cutbacks in health and education, etc.). while Today and ex-directors of the CAM are early retirees with large pension and great compensation.
Therefore the Municipal Group of the United Left - Green in the city of Alhama, propose to the plenary:
First .- The City Alhama de Murcia plenary agreed that a Municipal Council is convened where our municipal representative in this organization give us full information of the current relations between the City and the CAM, the CAM's current situation, how it has come to it, and how did this agent to avoid bankruptcy.
Second .- The City Alhama de Murcia Plenary agreed to request the government of the nation that the CAM, the socialization of losses after this rescue, and after its reorganization, becomes a state-owned, not to privatize or sell a Once healthy, but constitutes a state-owned public banks to make available to families and small businesses working capital needed to revitalize the regional economy and Spanish.
Third .- The City Alhama de Murcia Plenary agreed to request the National Government to conduct an audit on the CAM and if there has been, it seems, economic mismanagement, from that audit are require civil, criminal and if, as many people have led to what was the fourth largest financial institution in Spain is now operated by the Bank of Spain.
If these leaders of the CAM have bad management can not or should leave them free to have ruined what was a large financial institution, endangering the deposits of small savers and causing the state has to spend billions euros in cleaning up the entity.
