First, in the Praico, where he had planned location, needed an investment of 800,000 euros for improved access, money that the City does not currently subject to the Economic and Financial Plan.

In addition, due to the topography of the Praico, in some places it is necessary to make a foundation of 30 meters, with about cost that this entails.

Moreover, elsewhere in the area (the old Pottery, The Palm ...) had not enough land.

Mayor explained that there might only be expected by 2014 when the AVE was finished to have new land that could allow ubicacióndel institute.

He added that address this situation, the City had the land of New Espuña, equipped with the necessary infrastructure for the construction (water, electricity, roads ...).

Given the urgent need for construction, said the mayor, and putting the interest of a new building for all students, and the urgency of its construction, the government team made the decision, and made available to the Ministry of Education a site totally square of 10,000 square meters has not only been accepted by the Autonomous Community, but has already been visited by technicians of the Regional Administration and on which work is already underway.

Ana Fernandez added that given the great need for a new existing building in the municipality, the most immediate response was mentioned urbanization.

Meanwhile, Roberto Garcia, director of IES Valle de Leiva, has conveyed "a sense of school" of the urgent need for a new building.

It has therefore taken a number of data: 7 years ago, the center had 480 students and 48 teachers.

Currently there are 620 students and 67 teachers.

It has also clarified the responsibility of the center, "more and more students and the forecast is that every time we will have more."

Also explained that the School Board unanimously is the need for a new center and that with the present building, there is no space to accommodate more students.

In these same terms are stated Maria Jose Lopez, who clarified that, in successive parent meeting in which there was unanimous agreement about the place for its location, if there was unanimity on the urgent need to build it.

For this reason, he noted, the parents put before the urgent need for a new Valle de Leiva to the place of location, "in which we will not all agree to," he said.

The representative of the parents recalled that they are fighting for 8 years for new construction, so "it would be inconsistent not to join the City Council for construction."

Finally, the architect of the City Council clarified that, at the request of the mayor going to explain three alternatives have been for the construction of the building.

Before, clarified that the building of an institute has a number of requirements imposed.

Among them, to be built on a plot of 12,000 square meters and, exceptionally, one of 10,000 square meters.

As construction on the Old Pottery, emphasized that, as is provided in PGOM available 5,556 meters square and making changes and removing urban roads could reach to 8,000 square feet high, so no chances are given here.

As occurs in the area of the former factory and Bishop of El Pozo, where removing vials intended, likewise not reach the threshold with about 8,000 square meters.

Finally, in the Cotton, due to the characteristics of the factory ElPozo Food can not be built adjacent services, much less, an educational center which is also not possible that area.

Besides these lands are expropriated by Adif for collecting building materials.
