The Director General of Agro-Food Industry and Agricultural Training, Angel Garcia Lidón, and Alhama de Murcia mayor, Fernando Alfonso Ceron, closed today the 46th edition of the 'sample table grapes and other products of the Lower Guadalentin' which is part in celebration of the festival of the Virgin of the Rosary.
This exhibition is visited by more than 3,000 people.
Lidón Garcia emphasized "the excellent quality and variety of the products on display," adding that "Alhama de Murcia has some excellent farmers willing to modernize the industry by introducing new varieties."
The CEO said that the municipality "is driving the table grape crop in the region, where we export 70 percent of what is produced."
He stressed that South Africa is one of the emerging markets that matter grape Murcia and advocated research to continue leading horticultural marketing.
