The International Day Against Gender Violence concludes with a march through the streets of Alhama (26/11/2014)

Yesterday, November 25 International Day was commemorated against Gender Violence.

Therefore, the Department of Women has organized a series of events which began last Monday, November 17 with the photo exhibition "Under the Same Sun" Lina Jimenez and culminated yesterday with a march through the streets of the town.

Throughout last week the Department of Women also prepared a series of workshops to raise awareness and prevention of domestic violence with the students of Second ESO institutes Alhama Secondary Education.

Workshops taught by psychologist Point Specialized Care for Women (PAE) of Alhama, Carmen Yago.

The same day, November 17 also opened at the Exhibition Centre The Granary the photography exhibition "Under the Same Sun" Lina Jimenez.

An exhibition that shows how women live in different parts of the world and especially in the Asian and African continents.

The exhibition will be open at the usual time the Centre until next Sunday, November 30th.

Last Monday, November 24, was held in the auditorium of the Casa de la Cultura the talk: "Why call it love when it comes to violence."

A lecture by Carmen Yago who became a rich discussion on Gender Violence which had a very active audience that interacted with the rapporteur.

After the talk the award winning poster contest gave "without discrimination, without violence and equal", which went to Sara Martín Martínez for his poster "It's you, everyone, we are free".

In this eleventh edition of the three posters were presented and the jury appreciated for its final decision aspects like graphic quality or plastic playback conditions, originality, announcer or informational efficiency.

On November 25, International Day Against Gender Violence, began with an institutional act of making the symbolic link against gender violence on the balcony of the City of Alhama de Murcia.

In the afternoon a "March against gender violence" which toured the main streets of the town and was attended by fifty people who wanted to join this initiative that ended in the Casa de la Cultura de Alhama of held Murcia with reading the manifesto of revulsion towards violence, as to the activities planned by the Department of Women for this day.
