ACUDE signing cooperation agreements with hunting societies of Alhama de Murcia (01/12/2015)

The Association for Land Stewardship-ACUDE, has signed two agreements with hunting societies "Alhama de Murcia" and "The Glens of Alhama", in order to collaborate in promoting sustainable hunting activity and land stewardship in the geographical scope of both companies.

The hunting societies "Las Canadas de Alhama" manages 2,000 hectares located in the hamlet of the same name, in the salt marshes and the Guadalentín Alcanara mainly hunters and society "Alhama de Murcia", manages a 6,000 hectare Saladares Guadalentin between the Llano de las Cabras and Muela.

These hunting societies are private entities, non-profit organization whose main purpose is to promote hunting.

In the framework of these agreements with ACUDE intended it compatible with the promotion of wildlife and environmental conservation in its territory.

Moreover, the vast expanse of land that manage these societies is a unique action framework to promote conservation using land stewardship as a tool.

The agreements establish some channels for mutual advice and conducting public awareness activities and dissemination, for the enhancement of hunting as a potential element revitalizing rural and environmental conservation of wildlife and to promote participatory management of the territory.

Similarly, in the framework of these agreements, the exchange of information and documentation, as well as the development of training activities for the group of hunters and other social sectors arises.

Also, the realization of environmental management actions for the promotion of wildlife populations (for wildlife plantings, creating small wetlands, installation of water points, build heaps, etc.) are covered by these agreements.

Hunting is an activity with great economic importance for rural areas and hundreds of thousands of fans in Spain, whose responsible participation is crucial and essential to the success of conservation policies, both public and private.

ACUDE continues its policy of working with the local population without excluding anyone to encourage participatory management of the territory aimed at preservation of the environment.
