The victims of gender violence in Alhama be reinforced counseling service (25/01/2016)

The mayor of Alhama, Diego Conesa, met this past week with the Minister of Family and Equal Opportunities, Thomas Violante.

The meeting was also attended by local councilors of Social Services, Felipe Garcia and Equality, Nani Navarro and the CEO of Women, Alicia Barquero, and the general director of Family and Social Policies, Veronica Garcia, by the Autonomous community.

The Minister promised to increase the hours of psychological care are provided at the point of Specialized Care for Women Victims of Domestic Violence PAE.

This service has been paid in 2015 in the town individual and group treatment to 25 women victims of abuse, providing the necessary support to enhance their social and psychological skills, and to successfully recover after their experiences.

This requires a comprehensive, free personalized care is provided during the time needed to get out of the abusive situation from different professional approaches: legal, social and psychological.

The meeting have tried different programs that are being developed in social projects supporting families and improving attention to groups of vulnerable people, as well as those aimed at reconciling work and family life.

Including the request of converting the current Municipal Center for Psychosocial Care in a day center for people with mental illness.

Another request was to put a collaboration agreement between the CARM and the City for the provision of home help up, with the regulatory framework Law Unit.

Alhama held since 1996, a home help service the last two years financed exclusively by the City.

Finally, the councilman of Social Services has requested an increase in the number of places in day centers Alhama to reduce waiting lists.
