Renewed agreement with Land Stewardship ACUDE (05/02/2016)

The Local Government last February 3 approved the renewal of the collaboration agreement between the City Council and the Association for Land Stewardship and Sustainable Development (ACUDE).

The agreement, first signed on July 28, 2014, studied the feasibility of establishing projects, joint activities and experiences in land stewardship and environmental conservation in municipal properties located in some of the natural areas of the municipality of Alhama.

Today these farms are known as La Umbria Carrascoy, La Quebrada Beatriz Alcanara and block with all three just over 500 hectares.

Land stewardship is a figure management collection sites environmental interest in Article 76 of the State Law on Natural Heritage and Biodiversity.

Intended to promote the knowledge, conservation and restoration of heritage.

Along these lines, during the first year of the Convention, it has made ACUDE media advocacy of municipal properties and seeking commitments for collaboration with other organizations, especially hunting societies of the municipality.

The purpose of this renewal is further progress in the actions envisaged in the agreement, including an inventory of resources, project development and management of use, the review of the delimitation and signaling farms and conducting campaigns to promote the conservation of protected areas.
