The City Council will participate in the campaign "Project Paper 08-09, re-use of books in Spanish-speaking areas, share the recycling culture."
This is an action proposed by the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Spatial Planning now in its second edition.
Its purpose is the collection of books and learning materials to be used by people in schools and social centers for Spanish-speaking countries, thus promoting education and sharing our culture recycling.
The material needed is all kinds of books, libraries, school supplies, encyclopedias, dictionaries, etc.

The campaign will begin in June 2008 and runs until the end of January 2009.
Containers for the collection of material will be placed in schools and official buildings (Municipal Library, Centres, Seniors, etc., In the EcoPark, at City Hall as well as Primary and Secondary Schools).
Containers are a project to deposit boxes of books and other educational material.
The containers will be collected and subsequently perform the material selection and packaging during the months of November and December 2008 and January 2009, by registered volunteers.
All materials will be packaged and transferred to a central warehouse from which will go by boat to the destination country.
Project beneficiaries are the inhabitants of the regions of Spanish-speaking countries where organizations develop their activities and cooperation projects.
But this work requires the participation of volunteers, who will be trained properly to select books and school materials to be reused in education and training of children in places of destination.

Recruitment of volunteers for the Department of Environment has sent a letter to the associations to their members, if they wish, can participate in the initiative as well as anyone interested in the project you want to volunteer.
They should simply contact the Department of Environment of the City where they will tell the process to follow.
To expand information about the campaign, the Council has convened a meeting with private entities, associations and people interested in environmental action, a meeting that will take place on June 4 in the House of Culture at 20:00 .
Interested participants can also fill in a form that can be printed from the municipal website www.alhamademurcia.es.
Registration as a volunteer in the project can be done until July 31, 2008.
