The medicinal use of thermal waters throughout history is the subject of ongoing study by the International University of the Sea which is taught in Alhama from 22 to 26 September.

This activity will meet in Alhama geographers, archaeologists, hydrologists, physiotherapists and doctors and other specialists.

The program includes, in addition to lectures, visits to the baths of Alhama, Archena Fortuna, where students can perform various practices of balneotherapy in thermal pools.

The course is led by professors from the University of Murcia Luis Gonzalo Ovejero and Matilla and the director of the archaeological site "The Baths", de Alhama.
