The delegate of the Government and the Mayor of Alhama lay the foundation stone of the new playground in city traffic (11/06/2009)

The Government of Spain spends 3.3 million euros from the E Plan for the implementation of 9 projects.

The Council already has received more than 2.2 million euros for the start of all the works which will create 151 jobs

The Government delegate, Rafael González Tovar, along with the mayor of Alhama de Murcia, Juan Romero Canovas, and other members of the municipal corporation, have been this morning the first stone of two projects that the City will perform under the Local Investment Fund and visited other works that are already running.

The two projects, which account for placing the foundation stone this morning, are the embodiment of a Children's Traffic Park and the construction of an annex building to one that serves as a classroom for educational activities such as driver education and vehicle storage and the park's own material, which will involve a total investment of 547,698 euros.

Alhama Mayor, Juan Romero, said that the Children's Traffic Park is going to have traffic lights, road signs, landscaping, lighting, playground ... etc.

The Government delegate pointed out that in early childhood education in terms of traffic, Alhama was, at the moment, a pioneer town in the region, as had the first Children's Traffic Park, created in 1968 in the Park and has Cubana been a role model in other populations.

Other projects

The Government delegate reported that in Alhama de Murcia is carrying out a total of nine projects under the Local Investment Fund, which have a total budget of 3,362,067 euros, which was initially planned to employ 89 people , which already has become obsolete on the rise.

He also explained that the Government of Spain has already paid the 9 projects submitted by the city of Alhama, logging into your account EUR 2,287,938, corresponding to 70 percent of the budget of all projects.

Alhama Mayor noted that overall, the work envisaged by the Plan E are in addition to the above:

Expansion and reform of the municipal morgue (750,000 euros)

Construction of a pedestrian walkway in the park of La Cubana (265,898 euros)

Conduct a storm drain in the street from the station (601,704 euros)

Enforcement of drinking water networks for irrigation of parks in the southwest of the town (308,002 euros)

Paving of various streets (430,842 euros)

Construction of four tennis courts and the refurbishment of another (399,921 euros)

Rehabilitation of a public school in El Berro (57,998 euros).

The Local Investment Fund to date

Moreover, the government delegate pointed out that until today, the Ministry of Planning Policy has been transferred to 41 municipalities in the region EUR 146,865,289, corresponding to 575 projects have received funding for the 70 percent of the total payment projects.

With regard to jobs created so far González Tovar explained that already have generated 11,358 direct jobs.

In this latter regard, the delegate explained that the number of jobs created and financed the works awarded the Local Investment Fund, to date, is much higher than originally planned, so finally it is estimated that the number of posts Work is about 13,000 jobs in the region of Murcia.

In addition, reports that are being funded 85 percent of projects approved and that 29 municipalities have already received payment for the completion of all works submitted by each State Fund.
