The City Council signed a collaboration agreement with UCOMUR for promoting employment and social economy in Alhama (16/09/2009)

This morning, Wednesday 16 September, has signed a collaboration agreement between the city of Alhama de Murcia and UCOMUR to promote employment in the town and get out of a difficult situation that exists now as is unemployment.

To do this, have been present, the local mayor, Juan Romero Canovas UCOMUR president, Juan Antonio Frutos and Councilman Pedroza Employment and Local Development, Jose Lopez.

The objectives of the Training and Employment Center in the town, in employment and local development are:

Improving employment opportunities for job seekers and facilitate access to the work of those groups that are considered as priorities in national and regional employment.

Facilitate retraining and retraining of workers and employers and improving the quality of employment.

Promote the development of the municipality's economic activity, encouraging self-employment and social economy as an alternative employment, and supporting business associations.

In line with these objectives, which are shared by the Union of Worker Cooperatives in the Region of Murcia (UCOMUR), establishing partnerships of this Town Hall through the area of employment and local development, and that entity.

The City offers UCOMUR, besides the common areas and services (reception, training rooms, housekeeping, phone, etc..), Two offices of 17 m2 and 13 m2 furnished and equipped with information technology.

By signing this agreement, UCOMUR has gone to the center two people, guiding, which perform actions Guidance for Employment and Self-Employment Assistance, which targets the unemployed in the county, registered in the Employment Office.

This program is funded by the Regional Employment Service and Training and is intended to cater for some 300 unemployed people annually through individual interviews and group actions.

Also available to the population alhameña training activities, lectures, seminars and others that demand from the area of Employment and Local Development of the City Council.

During this year have been treated in employment orientation activities for a total of 297 unemployed, which represents 18% of job seekers in our town and has completed the Library and Archives Assistant, 200-hour in which 15 students participated.
