Via the Municipal Archives of town students will learn more in-depth local heritage (10/11/2009)

The Alhama Municipal Archives has launched a new action to spread the municipal assets.

Jesus Basauri, Councillor for Culture and Heritage of the City, has introduced a new activity aimed at this purpose.

Through it, students from schools in the town will enjoy a guided tour of several historic buildings in the town.

Visitors have a workbook that will provide information about the visit and visited.

It's about learning while enjoying the Consistory spread the municipal assets.

The booklets have been baptized with the name "The stones also speak ..." and, according to the mayor, have a route through the shields and symbols most representative of our people.

With this type of initiative, promoted by the Municipal Archives began his new career, you try through recreational activities, raise awareness among children and youth our heritage.

The activities will be guided by personal file and will begin next November 11th with students in grades 5 and 6 of the College Gines Diaz - San Cristobal, and will continue on day 16 with students in Secondary 2 Institute Valle de Leiva .

The proposed itinerary is as follows:

First stop at La Casa de la Tercia, old house barn, where it was stored and controlled the grain trade for redistribution in times of scarcity, built by the Marquis de Villafranca and Velez in the eighteenth century, located on Long Street .

The main façade we find the arms of the Marquis de los Vélez X which has an inscription on the bottom.

The second stop is the Plaza Vieja, former political and economic center of the town, where he was formerly the City and is now the Cultural Center.

This includes setting the shield of the town's oldest, known since the seventeenth century.

The third stop will be in the gardens of the Archeological Museum of the Baths, where the monolith that marked the town and has floral motifs and an inscription.

Finally, the fourth stop is the Church of San Lazaro Obispo, temple built on the ancient Christian church was rebuilt in the eighteenth century.
