Next week the assembly hall of the House of Culture will host a series of lectures on Healthy Eating.
The mayor of Health, José Miguel Muñoz, accompanied by Dr. Juan Madrid Conesa, a specialist in endocrinology and nutrition, presented the cycle emphasizing the need to correct poor eating habits, which led to our region to have obesity rates highest in the nation.
The renowned specialist will develop their professional work in our town, beginning with this series of lectures he claimed, will be continued with other cycles devoted to cholesterol or new food.
Madrid stated that "eating habits are changing by the rampant pace of our life and are leading to an increase in diseases such as obesity, diabetes, hypertension and cholesterol, all risk factors for heart problems and strokes."
José Miguel Muñoz stressed the importance of having available a professional alhameños the likes of Dr. Juan Madrid, known also by its eagerness to disseminate health issues through the media.
The lecture series begins Monday November 16 titled "I Healthy Eating Week."
The lecture series will feature the participation of accredited specialists in nutrition, belonging to NUSA, Nutrition and Health Center, who provided some simple guidelines on how to maintain a healthy diet.
