On the occasion of the celebration of the upcoming Islamic holiday that marks the "sacrifice of Ibrahim, popularly known as the feast of" The Lamb "or" Eid El Adha ", the City of Alhama has signed a decree recalling those rules to be followed celebrate the religious ritual with the traditional sacrifice of the lamb, to avoid risks to health, suffering for the animal or potential nuisance to neighbors:

1 °.

The slaughter was carried out in accordance with the provisions of Royal Decree 54/1995 of 20 January on the protection of animals at the time of slaughter or killing, as amended by Decree 731/07 of 8 June special attention to the obligation to stun 'prior to the animal and use only approved methods in Annex C of the Royal Decree to inflict death.

Therefore, it is forbidden to slaughter the lamb in private homes or common areas of buildings or other public places unless approved abattoirs.

2 °.

3 °.

In accordance with the provisions of Royal Decree 1911/2000, of 24, November, regulating the destruction of specified risk materials in relation to transmissible spongiform encephalopathies, as amended by Decree 100/03 of 24 January and are considered as specified risk material (SRM) the skull, tonsils and spinal cord of animals over twelve months old "and the spleen of sheep of all ages, is required to deliver these bodies to authorized managers for its destruction.

Therefore not be consumed, exposing to patios, terraces or balconies, or deposit waste in regular containers, no part of the body of sheep containing these organs.

4 .- All this reminds and warns that this sacrifice, even for a religious ritual should be done in establishing and authorized personnel, which will surely ensure strict compliance with current legislation.

5 .- The non-compliance on this side shall be penalized in accordance with current legislation.

6 .- Local Police in particular ensure compliance with these obligations.
