During the past week, the councilor of Social Services, Felipe García, has visited the four workshops of information and familiar family orientation that are being developed from this area.
Specifically, two language skills workshops are being carried out: 'Spanish for foreigners', whose main objective is to facilitate the learning of Spanish as a tool that allows improving relations with people's social and work environment.
A basic skills workshop is also being taught, with the aim of promoting the development of healthy living habits, general culture, domestic organization, job search techniques and basic information technology.
Finally, the last of the workshops, initiated in this month of May, is called 'We bring you closer to your people', where participants can learn first hand how the City Council is organized, what activities are carried out, what services are provided in each municipal area, as well as the history of Alhama and its surroundings.
Garcia thanked "the involvement of the technical staff of the different departments of the City, who have been involved in a determined way in the various developed editions of the workshop 'We approach your town', demonstrating the vocation of public service they have, recognizing the extra effort that it supposes them, added to their daily tasks of the day to day in their respective departments ".
The councilor encouraged them "to continue the path undertaken, training and acquiring the knowledge and skills necessary to have a more active and participatory life, which allows them to culminate with their social and occupational integration."
These information and orientation workshops are framed in the Regulation Regulation of the Concession and Management of Economic Benefits for Family Support and Social Insertion (PEPAFIS) and come to complement the economic provision for coverage of basic needs granted to the participants.
The beneficiaries participate in a nine-month itinerary, during which they develop various workshops according to their needs.
The modality of provision for the Family Support and Social Insertion, which combines a double support (economic and orientation through itineraries), was a bet of the current government team, which decided to review the system of granting social aid that up to that time At that time, it existed in the municipality of Alhama, introducing in it innovative elements with which it was intended to go one step further in supporting people.
Now the economic aid is complemented, without doubt necessary, with a personal support and orientation that facilitates tools for the social and labor insertion of the people, co-responsible for rights and obligations that dignify the person.
These meetings are also serving to inform users of the new Social Services coordinator, Eva María León, who has been able to see first-hand the work that is being developed in these informative itineraries.
In addition, he was able to exchange impressions among the participants to know first-hand the quality of the service that is being provided and made available to these users so that they can personally address it as responsible for the center.
