A total of 30 people participated on Thursday June 14 in a training day within the project of prevention and promotion of autonomy that develops from Social Services in collaboration with Tunstall-Televida, company providing the tele-assistance service.
In it, attendees have been able to talk about intergenerational relationships between grandparents and grandchildren, taking advantage of the summer season and school holidays.
In the meeting, the participants have worked the benefits of this relationship for the elderly, concluding that it has the following benefits:
1. Greater feeling of utility
2. Better self-esteem and encouragement and increased vitality
4. Decrease in loneliness
5. Integration in community life
6. Continuous learning
Regarding the benefits we find for children and young people:
1. New ways of seeing older people
2. Access to extensive support networks
3. More awareness
4. More social responsibility
5. Learning
"We can achieve a society for all ages, these relationships are great learning opportunities that generate greater tolerance and understanding between generations," say those responsible for the program.
From the Department of Social Services thank Tunstall-Televida their involvement in the organization of these meetings and especially Reme, coordinator of teleassistance in the duel municipality.
