The IX Popular Triathlon and Women of Alhama was held yesterday, Sunday, with the participation of 300 participants between the categories of minors, male and female absolutists who participated in the women's triathlon, which aims to promote this sport among the female sector, being the reference triathlon in the Region for many women who start there.
A total of 38 triathletes, 21 not federated and 17 federated, have competed in the Triathlon of Women won by the triathlete of the Eagle Águilas Primaflor, Leonor Fernández, when crossing the finish line in a time of 36 minutes and 14 seconds, to complete the 300 meters of swimming, 10 kilometers of bike and 2 thousand meters of running.
After her came Victoria Castiñeiras, from CT Lorca (36:42) and Cristina Moreno, from Bitec Tri Impulso (36:52).
As for the non-federated, María Navarro (39:30) was the fastest, followed by Mª del Mar Abellán (40:53) and Rocío Villar (41:14).
As for the popular triathlon, 73 participants took the start with the victory of Juan Miguel Muñoz, from CT Águilas Primaflor, with a time of 31 minutes and 12 seconds.
In second place came Sergio Cuenca, of the CT Arabí Yecla-Catlike (31:22) and his teammate José Camus (31:33), in federated.
As for the non-federated, Francisco Javier Jimenez was the fastest, with a time of 33 minutes and 20 seconds.
He was followed by Jorge Ramírez (33:38) and Pedro Antonio Cánovas (33:46).
As for the minors competition, the CT Caravaca triathletes, Jesus Montoya (31:03), Alberto Sánchez (31:21) and José Antonio Hoyos (31:33) formed the male cadet podium, while the female one formed it Paula Sánchez, from Tritones Murcia Sport Club (34:11), Andrea Duran, CT Caravaca (36:38) and Marta Sánchez, Club San Jorge (37:49)
In boys, Brandon Wales, of the Tritones Murcia Sport Club, won the test accompanying him on the podium Pablo Marín, CT Caravaca, and Salvador Martínez, of the Mandarache Cartagena Athletics.
In females, Isabel Mª Navarro, from CT Arabí Yecla-Catlike, was the winner, with Marta Gil coming in second.

Eva María Sánchez, from CT Cartagena, Aitana Pérez and Cinta Nicolás, from the Tritones Murcia Sport Club, formed the women's podium.
