The ordinary plenary of August, held last night, unanimously approved a proposal by the councilor for Agriculture and Livestock, Antonio José Caja, in which he requested the inclusion of the municipality of Alhama de Murcia within the aid to farmers affected by the episode of Rain and hail from last August 16.
The text states that Alhama has been left out of the municipalities to which they are going to provide assistance, for which it claims to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Region of Murcia that local farmers can access this aid with appropriate products for each type of culture.
On Tuesday August 22 from the Ministry announced the delivery to the affected municipalities of 1,500 kilos of a product to cure trees and promote the healing of woody areas in order to prevent the occurrence of pests.
According to the data provided by the Comarcal Agrarian Office, damage caused by hail, rain and wind have reached more than 115 hectares of our municipality, the most affected have been citrus and grapevine, causing falls of plantations and damage to leaves and fruit .
