This morning the area of Parks and Gardens of the City Council has been performing various actions.
The municipal brigades have proceeded to plant a cedar of Lebanon (Cedrus libani) in the garden of the ducks in order to maintain the initial aesthetic of the garden, after having removed in June the tree that occupied that space for its deterioration.
It is the first specimen of this species in all the public green areas of the municipality, since it has a humid climate with Mediterranean influence (Lebanon area) and has better adaptation possibilities than the Deodara or Himalayan cedar, previous species.
On the other hand, another type of cedar, Cedrus atlantica, has been planted in the Parque de la Cubana, which adds to the four that already exist in the Plaza de Ortega y Gasset, about 40 years old.
