A total of 41 children arrived by sea to the Region are staying since this weekend in the House of Spirituality, better known as Casa del Ral, in Alhama de Murcia, owned by the Catholic Church and ceded to Cáritas, where they are being assisted by the Arcos del Castillo Foundation, hired by the Autonomous Community to manage their shelters for minors, as well as their accompaniment and support.
On Saturday at 3:00 p.m. they received 23 migrants from the Caravaca de la Cruz children's center, where they stayed for a day and a half.
Throughout the afternoon a second group of six and another of four people arrived.
And this Sunday afternoon eight others joined.
This weekend has increased to more than 240 the number of people who have arrived in Patera to our coasts.
Faced with this situation, the Family Council of the Autonomous Community has contacted the different humanitarian aid organizations in the Region to temporarily locate some of them.
The Catholic church in Alhama has given through the Caritas House of Ral, their property, to welcome children, who can stay for several days while the regional administration resolves their situation.
There they have a team of professionals who are responsible for their nutrition and care.
On Friday, Salvamento Marítimo located 40 people aboard three boats on the coast of Cartagena.
A total of 21 of these boats have arrived in the Region since the wave started last Wednesday, according to data from the Government Delegation.
The migrants have been assisted by the Emergency Response Team (ERIE) of the Red Cross Humanitarian Aid.
In the last 48 hours, 223 immigrants have been located on the coast of Cartagena and Aguilas, about thirty of them minors, all of Algerian nationality -except an adult who claims to be Syrian-, males -except for five women, one of they are younger and in good health, except for a sick adult.
