The mayor of Alhama de Murcia, Mariola Guevara, and the president of the Red Cross in the town, José Luis Garre, today signed an extension of the collaboration agreement between the City Council and the entity to deal with situations of urgent economic need they are raised to the families and neighbors registered in the municipality of Alhama de Murcia, through the 'Program of Aid for Emergency Situations and Urgent Need', developed by the local Red Cross, initially provided with € 25,000.
"After proceeding to the processing and payment of aid for the entire amount, being aware from the City Council that the situations of need continue in the beneficiary families of this program, we proceed to expand the economic endowment of the agreement with € 10,000 more ", says Guevara.
So far there have been more than 130 families benefiting from the program, which has served to support them in the face of economic hardship to meet the payment of supplies (water and electricity), essential equipment (refrigerator or heater for example) and others of an urgent nature.
The families that, being in a situation of economic deficiency, present difficulty to face the payment of the basic necessities, can extend information on this program, going to the Municipal Center of Social Services, located in C / Los Baños nº 10 (old house de Las Menas), from 9:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., where they will be informed of conditions, requirements, types of aid, etc.
