More than 300 cases of childhood leukemia are detected every year in Spain
The Foundation has already allocated more than 600,000 euros for research
More than 250,000 children and 260 centers have participated in previous editions
More than 800 schools and educational centers throughout Spain will run the fourth edition of La Vuelta al Cole de Unoentrecienmil on October 26 to raise funds and promote research into childhood leukemia with a new research grant from the foundation.
And the CEIP REINA SOFÍA of EL CAÑARICO joins this solidarity movement with its 13 students.
This edition will present a record number of participating centers and it is expected that more than 300,000 students raised awareness of the problem of this disease will join the race.
The charity race is the largest movement of schools united in favor of the investigation of childhood leukemia and has been a resounding success in the first three editions, with the participation of more than 250 centers and over 250,000 runners between students and teachers, all providing a symbolic euro for their solidarity number.
Each year, 300 new cases of leukemia in the pediatric age are diagnosed in Spain and, unfortunately, 20% do not exceed it.
"Research is the only way to change these figures and reach 100% cure," explains Jose Carnero, president and founder of Unoentrecienmil.
This initiative integrates values such as awareness, commitment, effort, solidarity, fellowship, struggle, sacrifice, improvement and team spirit in a sports day with a strong sense of vindication: more means are needed for the investigation of childhood leukemia since cancer Pediatric is the first cause of death by disease until age 14.
"The Back to School helps raise awareness of the serious problem of childhood leukemia and thanks to the generosity of so many students and centers involved in the participation, we continue to raise funds for a new leukemia research grant.
In the Foundation we always underline that with a few of many we can help change the world and that is our goal: that there be a total cure of children with leukemia and not only 80% of the cases and that the little ones can enjoy in parks playing away from hospitals and chemotherapies.
Hopefully each year more schools will join La Vuelta al Cole.
It is incredible to see the smile that is drawn to the participating children and the enthusiasm and enthusiasm that they put into the race wearing that bib with which they hope to help end this serious illness, "explains the founder of Unoentrecienmil.
