From November 20 to 30 the 14 informative sessions of the first phase of the young participatory budgets organized by the City Council of Alhama next to the University of Murcia took place, and in which the students of 1st and 2nd year of the baccalaureate of the IES Miguel Hernández and Valle de Leiva.
In this process, the young people of Alhama will be able to propose and vote on which initiatives will be invested the € 10,000 that are destined for it.
In these sessions (eight at the IES Miguel Hernández and six at the IES Valle de Leiva) a total of 301 young people were able to know how a municipal budget works and how to take part in the participatory process, as well as, finally, carry out a workshop of realization of proposals in which they learned to define their ideas so that they could reach a higher level of viability.
This process, aimed at the youngest, comes to try to solve the lack of habitual participation of this age group in the municipal participatory processes, where they are generally not sufficiently represented due to the scarcity of initiatives presented according to their interests and concerns. .
The collection of proposals was on December 5 and there were a total of 68 initiatives that will now go through a technical assessment phase where technicians from the City of Alhama will study the feasibility of these.
After it, the list will be prepared with the proposals that will finally be put to the vote next January 2019.
