At midday the polls have been closed in the schools of the municipality and on Sunday finalized the vote through the internet of the second experience of participatory budgets in Alhama
After the scrutiny of the Participatory Budgeting process 2019-2020, which took place this afternoon, the data shows that there have been a total of 2,020 valid votes cast, compared to 1,407 in 2016, which represents an increase of 43.5% .
Of the total number of the census (19,042), it has voted 10.61%, compared to 7.62% of the previous pilot test, three more points.
Through the internet: 1,389 votes (68.7% of the total)
In person: 631 votes (31.3% of the total), of which:
- 82 votes (4.1%) among the 5 districts
- 482 (23.9%) in public schools
- 67 (3.3%) in the urn of the Town Hall and Plaza de Abastos
It should also be noted that in the specific process of Youth Participatory Budgeting a total of 205 young people participated through two ballot boxes located in the IES Valle de Leiva and Miguel Hernández.
The Participatory Budgets 2019-2020 was presented on October 17 and a few days later began the information sessions, a total of 11 meetings, of which five took place in districts and six in the different areas in which the municipality is divided , in addition to various meetings by areas: women, seniors, functional diversity, AMPAs and migrants.
The process continued with the presentation of proposals, prioritization of the same, feasibility study and approval by the municipal technicians and, finally, voting.
The councils of Citizen Participation and Treasury consider a "very positive" data of participation, since it has increased significantly compared to the previous process, "which means a vote of confidence from the residents of Alhama to this process," says Councilman Antonio José Caja.
