The mayor of Alhama, Mariola Guevara, has signed a collaboration agreement between the City Council and the Instructional Circle of the Worker for the conditioning of a room in the building of this association in order to create an alternative leisure space for the use and enjoyment of young people from 13 to 17 years of age in the municipality.
The agreement establishes an investment of 15,000 euros to carry out the works, which are expected to be completed before April 30, 2019, and which will include the construction of toilets for people with disabilities, access ramps according to accessibility standards, improvement in the electrical installations and finishes.
"Starting in May, the young people of Alhama will finally have a space where they can organize activities focused on their interests and adapted to their demands," Guevara points out.
The place, located right in the center, is close to pizzerias, and usual meeting places for young people, such as the La Cubana park or the Plaza de la Constitución.
It will open on weekends with the aim that they can manage their free time in a healthy and positive way.
For this, the City Council will give them full participation when deciding the usefulness and design of this space according to their preferences, housing different playful elements.
It will also have youth associations as facilitators and educators / monitors for proper use of facilities.
