Due to the risk for the conservation of protected species during the reproduction period, in the areas of Carmona-Cuevas Luengas and the path of the Solana de Pedro López of the Sierra Espuña Regional Park, transit will be temporarily restricted (January to June). 2019, both months included) to any person or vehicle (motor or not).

Thanks to the study carried out last year by Nerea Vercher (in her work ending Master 2016-2017), we know that, in the period between 2012 and 2017, the number of users in the Cuevas Luengas environment has increased (Senda del Agua ), but not within that restricted area, where it has been greatly reduced.

These results show the increase in the awareness of the public regarding the first year of closure (2012) and indicate the usefulness and need to continue with this restriction measure.

From the Regional Park we thank you for your participation in the conservation and we request, one more year, your collaboration to avoid that protected species suffer discomfort in critical periods for the survival of their populations.

The points of the trails that are cut in the area will be marked, in order to cause the minimum inconvenience to the users of the Park.

In the Carmona-Cuevas Luengas area, the Senda del Agua and other paths that run along its periphery will continue to be passable, as in previous years (figure 1).

In the area of ​​Pedro López, the Forest Tracks and the PR-MU-63 (Pedro López Trail) will continue to be transitable.

It only affects the path that runs through the sun, from the Cuevas de la Plata up to the cliffs, and ending (no longer traced) above them (figure 2).

Part of the route has been destroyed by the storms that occurred in 2012, so, in its current state, it is not an adequate path for the practice of hiking and cycling in safety conditions.
