This Friday February 8 will take place at 13:30 the act of donating a shield of Alhama carved in stone owned by the family Egea Provencio.
Last June, the mayors of Alhama, Mariola Guevara, together with the Councilor for Culture and Heritage, Alicia Martínez, and the technician José Baños, signed an agreement for the donation of the work by María Egea, widow of the sculptor Francisco Provencio, and his son Ignacio Provencio.
Through the act of donation, the City Council is committed to preserve and preserve the sculpture, which will be installed in one of the two entrances of the plenary hall of the Town Hall.
The work is a shield of Alhama carved in natural stone, with its support trestles, a replica of the one above the entrance to the Town Hall and made by the artisan sculptors brothers Francisco and Juan Provencio in 1991.
The shield has remained in the family home until now.
