The Primafrio Foundation, a non-profit organization that was created under the umbrella of the Primafrio Group, and the Medical Studies Foundation of Molina de Segura (FEM), have signed a collaboration agreement that will make it possible to contribute actively to the comprehensive education of the population of the Region of Murcia and other places of the national territory, by means of the diffusion and the promotion of the scientific and investigative activity, as well as the stimulation of the scientific vocations and the diffusion of healthy habits of life.
The signing of this agreement, which has taken place at the headquarters of the Primafrio Group, will involve the promotion of scientific vocations among schoolchildren of the Region of Murcia, especially non-university students who attend scientific baccalaureates in the Autonomous Community, through of a methodology that integrates traditional procedures with innovative actions, in order to awaken, maintain and consolidate students' interest in some of the great challenges currently facing science and technology.
The president of the Fundación Primafrio, Juan Conesa Alcaraz, said that "the promotion of scientific and research activity among young people in our region always means moving in the right direction."
For his part, Aurelio Luna Maldonado, representative of the FEM, pointed out that "betting on training and specifically training in science and technology, is a great opportunity for non-university students in the Region of Murcia to know and love the science in a closer and personal way ".
The general director of Attention to the Diversity and Educational Quality of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Region of Murcia, Francisco Martínez Casanova, as well as different members of the board of both foundations, participated in the event.
This new agreement established by the Fundación Primafrio in the framework of training and promotion of scientific and research activity, connects with one of the main purposes of the entity that seeks to respond, through innovative proposals, to social, economic and environmental challenges of the society.
Scientific dissemination
After the signing of the new agreement, the FEM has started a scientific dissemination conference at the headquarters of the Primafrio Group located in Alhama de Murcia, which has been led by Daniel Ramón Vidal, a graduate and doctor of Biological Sciences from the University of Valencia , Professor of Food Technology at the Universitat de València and Professor of Research at the Institute of Agrochemistry and Food Technology (IATA) of the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC).
In his lecture entitled "How to build a company that sells bacteria", Vidal has addressed 87 young people from the region from the institutes IES Miguel Hernández de Alhama de Murcia and IESO de Librilla, accompanied by 5 professors.
The biologist has pointed out that the bacteria that inhabit our digestive tract allow us to develop new food ingredients and this has enabled the construction of his company, which currently sells bacteria and has obtained great success worldwide.
Similarly, Vidal has talked about his own experience and has encouraged attendees to develop their scientific vocation and to undertake, so that with enthusiasm and teamwork, they can achieve new goals at the hand of science.
