José Guirao, Minister of Culture and Sports, will close this year's Holy Week in Alhama de Murcia (Murcia) with his attendance at the unique Encounter that takes place in this municipality on Easter Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
Guirao will arrive in Alhama this Saturday night, where he will spend the night.
On Sunday morning he will make an institutional visit to the Los Baños Archaeological Museum at 9:30, with a guided tour accompanied by the mayor Mariola Guevara and the chronicler of the Villa de Alhama, José Baños.
There he will sign in the municipality's honor book.
At 11:00 he will attend the Resurrection Sunday Encounter, the most spectacular and happy moment of Holy Week in Alhama, unparalleled in any other locality of the Region.
An act that will start at 10:00 am with the procession of the titular images of the brotherhoods, carried on their shoulders and with some huge flower ornaments that defy gravity, accompanied by their bands from different itineraries that converge in the city center.
Thousands of neighbors and visitors will meet at that point, next to the Garden of Los Patos, waiting for the most important moment of the passionate parades: the meeting of the risen Jesus with his Sorrowful Mother, accompanied by San Juan, Verónica and María Magdalena.
It is then when the sepulcher will open and a white dove will fly out, while the resurrected Jesus appears and the mourning mantle of the Virgin falls to the ground.
The bands will then begin to play with great intensity and the portapasos will raise their thrones towards the sky with the hands of the music and in the midst of a thunderous applause.
Declared of Regional Tourist Interest in March of 1995.

Before his arrival, the Minister was interested in the work carried out by the members of the different brotherhoods and Passionist fraternities of Alhama throughout this early morning, preparing the floral arrangements of the thrones, prior to the critical moment of the following day.
